Course Description - This is a basic course that provides a foundation for additional art courses that follow. The course is a studio introduction to a wide variety of media and approaches to art, including drawing, painting, graphics and pottery. Intro to art is a prerequisite for other art courses at the secondary level and must be completed for other art classes to count for your art elective credit.
Course Objectives -
- To expose students to various media and techniques in order to give them a working knowledge and technical skills in these art media.
- To expose the students to man's visual art heritage.
- To foster personal satisfaction for each student through individual accomplishments which can enrich and deepen their everyday life.
Grading
Art Projects: (100 pts. Each- smaller may count as ½ credit)
Tests: Midterm and Final Exams
Participation- 4 points per day based on work ethic, expectations and attendance.
